Introduction
Trepy uses Stripe for three separate financial flows. Confusing them is the most common source of payout and billing support tickets. This guide explains Trepy billing (your organization subscription), ticket checkout (what attendees pay), and Stripe Connect payouts (what your organization receives).

The three Stripe flows
Flow 1: Trepy billing (organization subscription)
| Who pays | Your organization (Organization Admin) |
| What it covers | Trepy platform plan — Crawl, Walk, or Run |
| When | At business signup and on renewal |
| Where to manage | Billing in your Organization Admin workspace |
This is Trepy billing. It is not ticket revenue.
Flow 2: Ticket checkout (attendee payments)
| Who pays | Members and guests buying tickets |
| What it covers | Event ticket purchases |
| When | During ticket checkout |
| Where it happens | Stripe Checkout redirect from Trepy |
Attendee payments require Stripe Connect to be active before paid tickets can be sold.
Flow 3: Stripe Connect payouts (ticket revenue to your bank)
| Who receives | Your organization |
| What it covers | Net ticket revenue after fees |
| When | On Stripe’s payout schedule after successful checkouts |
| Where to review | Earnings and statements |
Stripe Connect is the payout rail. Connect onboarding is separate from your Trepy subscription.
How the flows connect on event day
- Attendees buy tickets through Flow 2 (checkout).
- Revenue accumulates in your connected Stripe account (Flow 3).
- Your Trepy billing subscription (Flow 1) continues independently — it is not deducted from ticket sales automatically in the same transaction.
Financial reconciliation checklist
After an event:
- Compare tickets sold in Trepy to attendance reports.
- Review earnings and statements for ticket revenue.
- Process refunds before final reconciliation if needed.
- Confirm Stripe Connect payout status is Active.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely flow | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Cannot sell paid tickets | Connect (Flow 3) | Connect Stripe |
| Charged for Trepy plan unexpectedly | Billing (Flow 1) | Review plan in Billing settings |
| Attendee paid but org sees no revenue | Checkout vs Connect | Confirm Connect active; check statements |
| Payout blocked | Connect (Flow 3) | Troubleshoot Stripe Connect |
